Improve range
Gate boxes, metal buildings and block walls cut a receiver's range. An antenna kit moves the antenna outside: Digi-Code DC5166 (16 ft, for 300-390 MHz receivers with an F connector), DC5165 (433 MHz), Linear EXA-1000 and EXA-2000 antennas and 106603 coax kit, LiftMaster 86LM / 86LMT.

What does a garage door opener receiver do?
The receiver picks up the signal from your remotes and keypads and tells the opener or gate to run. Most residential openers have one built in. An external receiver adds radio control to gates and commercial operators, lets an older opener use newer remotes, or improves range with an outside antenna.
How do I choose a replacement receiver?
Match the receiver to your remotes: the brand and radio system (for example LiftMaster Security+ 2.0, Linear MegaCode, Multi-Code or Genie Intellicode) and the frequency. Also check the power (12-24 V or 120 V plug-in) and how many channels you need.
Why isn't my garage door receiver working?
Check power to the receiver, then the antenna: metal buildings and gate boxes block the signal, and an antenna extension kit often fixes poor range. If only some remotes fail, reprogram them or replace their batteries.
